Firstly, we need to preprare a clip-on-tuner. If we have no tuner at hand, we can download an APP on the phone which can be used like a tuner.
The standard C tuning features strings tuned to G, C, E A( from the left to the right when we put the ukulele straight and facing the front). We may begin our tuning with the 3rd string, which is the note C.
Maybe some new ukulele players complain that their new ukulele won't stay in tune. Find it fall out of tune a couple of minutes later after tuning it up.
As the ukuleles are nylon strings, it will take time for the nylon strings to adapt the pulling force. We may need to tune it several times until the force is balance and tune is settled. This period may last for a couple of days. We can also stretch the strings to make the nylon strings adapting the pulling force in shorter time. Pull each string firmly but gently, either from side to side or up and away from the ukulele. The strings should be moved no more than half an inch away from its normal location.
